A Woman on the $10 Bill (Drive Home History #14)

The Treasury Department announced this week that they’re planning to replace Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill with an as of yet unnamed woman by 2020. While it’s great that we will have a woman on our currency and this development is long overdue, there are a lot of reasons why a different bill should have been picked. Many would prefer to see Andrew Jackson replaced on the $20 bill and there are a lot of good reasons for that.

In this episode of Drive Home History, I discuss three reasons why I disagree with the decision to replace Alexander Hamilton and why Andrew Jackson would be a better candidate to be replaced by a woman on a unit of currency.
